Create your own windmill in spring
Spring draws us outdoors once again to enjoy the first rays of sun and the fresh spring breeze. But not only that! With a colourful windmill, you and your friends can make the spring breeze visible! In our instructions, we tell you how you can make your own windmill.
- thin card
- your choice of coloured paper
- 1 piece of iron wire
- 2 beads
- Pritt PVA Craft Glue
- Pritt No More Scissors tape
First, draw a square on the card with the pencil for the windmill. Then mark out the centre point by drawing two diagonal lines to form a cross through the square.
Now your children can start to help out. For example, they can colour in and stick circles or flowers on the windmill that they cut out of the coloured paper before, however they like. The best thing for that is Pritt PVA Craft Glue.
While the children are decorating the windmill, it doesn't matter if some of the colours and paints go outside of the square, because you will only cut it out afterwards.
As soon as the glue and paint is dry, help your children to cut along the edges of the square. Then cut along the dotted lines until about 3 centimetres before the centre point.
Then bend the iron wire to a 90° angle and thread one of the beads along so that it blocks the corner. Then fix the wire to the pole with one or two pieces of Pritt adhesive tape. Take a look at the diagram to see how. Then fix the windmill to the pole with the bead.
Then thread the second bead on at the other side of the card so that the windmill is secure.
We hope you and your children have lots of fun making your windmill!
