Mini stadium for finger football

True football fans want to play in all weather. Before your parents have a nervous breakdown because you want to kick the ball through the living room, build yourself a mini stadium!

You can play "finger football" at any time in any place, even in the living room. Invite a few friends round and start your own tournament!

  • shoe box lid
  • 1 felt board, green
  • craft paper or felt
  • fabric pen, white
  • toothpicks
  • cotton wool ball
  • Pritt Original Stick
  • Pritt PVA Craft Glue
  • Pritt Multi Tack

  • scissors
  • pencil
  • felt tip pens
  • craft knife
  • ruler
  • cup

For parents/adults:

One step requires the use of a craft knife. Please supervise that step so your child doesn't get hurt.

Step 1

The felt board is the pitch. If necessary, ask an adult to cut it down to the size of the shoe box lid. Then draw the markings on with the fabric pen: halfway line, penalty box, penalty spot ...

Step 2

Make the goals out of craft paper. Cut a sheet of craft paper in half. Fold each strip in half and then fold the top layer up again. Then use a mug to draw a goal arch on the upper half. Carefully cut out the arch. If you like, you can draw a net and some goalposts on with felt tip pens.  Do the same for the other goal.

Step 3

Mark the position of the goals on the edge of the box lid. Ask an adult tocarefully cut a slit where the markings are. Fold the edge of the lid back.

Step 4

Then glue the goals down on the inside edge of the box. Then stick the part that you have drawn a net on onto the edge that you folded back.

Step 5

After that, carefully glue the pitch onto the box lid.

Step 6

You can make the corner flags out of toothpicks and red craft felt or paper. Cut out 4 small triangles out of the red material and stick one on each of the toothpicks. Secure the corner flags to the pitch with Pritt Multi Tack.

Step 7

Print out the template for the players. Carefully cut out the holes for your fingers.

Step 8

Then print out the shirt in your favourite team's colours and write your favourite player's name on it. Maybe you can find a picture of them in a magazine. Cut it out and stick it on.

Step 9

Decorate the football however you like and let the match begin. Simply put two fingers in the leg holes in the players and... kick off!
