Do you have a special pet? Lots of people have a cat or a dog, a turtle or a bird, or even a fish that they love like a member of the family. Animals are a lot like us. They love to eat and sleep and play. Just like us, our pets sometimes get sick. When pets need a doctor, they go to a special doctor called a veterinarian. Today we are going to make veterinarian crafts and build an animal hospital. In this fun animal hospital craft project, we will also make some animals, a tree and an examination room. For more projects, remember to have a look at our other “Fun on the Farm” projects. Taking care of animals is so much fun!
- Print out the attached documents
- a cardboard cereal box
- A handy Pritt Stick
Cut out all the animal hospital images from the printed-out crafting templates.
Now we take the animal hospital room cut-out (image 2) and glue it to our breakfast box cardboard. We must wait 30 seconds for the glue to dry. Can you count to 30? Now we must cut around the animal hospital room, so that we have a cardboard template.
Once we have the template, we must fold along the dotted lines. You can use the picture for help.
Place a generous amount of glue on the two tabs on the base of the animal hospital and glue them to the land (image 1). The glue tabs must be stuck to the land.
Now we take image 3 and fold along the dotted lines to make a table. We then place glue on the tabs and glue them in place, to form a small box.
We now take image 4 and fold it along the dotted lines. We then glue it end to end to form a square. This is the care pen, where puppies and kittens are kept for observation.
To make the animal doctor, nurse, animals and tree (image 5), fold the cut-out in half, and then fold the coloured blocks inward to form a triangular shape. Then apply some Pritt glue to glue the base in place
It is now time to arrange your animal hospital. Which animals will you take care of today? Use the picture for inspiration
And that's it!
We hope you have lots of fun helping animals with your paper animal hospital.
We would love to see pictures of your animal hospital. You can ask your mum or dad to post pictures on our Facebook wall at “Prittworld”.
